X-78: Reach for more
While the S-78 is a truly extravagant design, the X-78 and her sister ships are somewhat less radical in their looks… Although they still feature first-class technologies and finish. This custom-series has been developed for people who are looking to go further.
With a Storm X-78 you will have a greater range without any way compromises on the design and comfort of the S-series. The key difference is the more retrained shape of the bow but owning a Storm X is every bit an adventure.
We also expect owners to choose for twin Caterpillar C9 diesels with this model, although it is by no means excluded that you opt to fit the Pod drives specced for the S-series. Either way, the smart hull and design will ensure you good fuel economy and make transatlantic crossings a serious option.
Like her sister ships in the X-series the X-78 offers you:
- Good sailing characteristics and significant fuel savings
- A distinctive exterior profile with a hint of an expedition yacht
- Large interior volume that optimises comfort
- The latest technologies
- Dutch standards of finishing and detail
- A wealth of customisation options inside and out, incl. propulsion
Individual Design Service
Every yacht in the STORM series benefits from an impressive design, pure craftsmanship, multiple innovations and considerable attention to detail. A wide selection of colours, wood types, finishes, carpets and upholstery is available to individualise each yacht to a high degree. And if you need even more choice, you can use our Individual Design Service to totally customise your interior.
With a truly unlimited choice of materials and finishing styles, your bespoke interior will be designed in conjunction with Omega Architects. The result will be a unique STORM yacht that totally reflects the taste, lifestyle, preferences and personality of her owners.
And there is more. You can take customisation to an even higher level by working with your architect on a distinctive layout. Perhaps you’d like two larger suites, or an extra cabin or a different location for the galley. With the Individual Design Service the choice is truly yours.
The X-78 has been designed by Frank Laupman and has ample space to accommodate six adults. A fine example is the superyacht-style lounge that is much larger in both beam and length than the majority of yachts this size. The same goes for the flybridge, which also provides a superb al fresco environment for sunbathing, dining or raising a glass to another top day of cruising.
As with every Storm yacht, you can choose your own layout as well as the design and decorative style. We recommend doing so with Frank Laupman but you can bring in your own interior designer if you prefer.
As a rule, we recommend Caterpillar engines with V-drive shaft propulsion onboard the X-78. This propulsion system is specifically suitable for owners keen on the ease of maintainability and the lower cost-of-ownership of a shaft drive system.
Of course, the choice for an engine of a different make is possible. And if higher speed is a requirement, you can opt for the Volvo IPS propulsion system of the S-series. As always we would be delighted to discuss the option with you.
